NOTICE: For proper cooling and airflow, do not operate the server with the cover removed for more than four minutes. Do not leave the chassis cover open or a system fan removed any longer than necessary; system cooling could be reduced.

Removing the Top Cover
To upgrade or troubleshoot the system, remove the system cover to gain access to internal components.

2To remove the system cover, turn the latch release lock
3Lift the latch on top of the system. The cover will slide back as you lift the latch. See Figure
4Grasp the cover on both sides and carefully lift the cover away from the system.
Installing the Top Cover
1Lift up the latch on the cover.
2Place the cover on top of the system and offset the cover slightly back so that it clears the chassis J hooks and lays flush on the system chassis. See Figure
3Push down the latch to lever the cover into the closed position.
4Rotate the latch release lock in a clockwise direction to secure the cover.
