Caution
When you are prompted to enter a password, you have three tries before the system halts. Don’t forget your password. If you forget your password, you may have to return your notebook to your dealer to reset it.
Setting a Password
Important
You must set a Supervisor password before you can set a User password.
To set the Supervisor password:
1Press ↑ or ↓ to highlight Set Supervisor Password, then press ENTER. The Set Supervisor Password box opens.
2Type a password in the Enter New Password field. The password length cannot exceed eight alphanumeric characters
3Retype the password in the Confirm New Password field.
Caution
Be very careful when typing your password because the characters do not appear on the screen.
4Press ENTER. After setting the password, the value of Supervisor Password changes to Set.
5Optional: you can enable the Password on Boot parameter.
