TRENDING AND TRENDS

Definition Trending means to record value changes of selected datapoints and show the developing of the values for a definable time interval in a chart or table.

Fig. 23. Trend Example

Trend Types ARENA allows 2 ways of trending:

Historical Trend

The trended datapoint values are retrieved from the ARENA database which can contain values of all levels (station, site, and controller). In the first step, the datapoint values are recorded. In the second step, the trended datapoints are displayed for a definable time interval with a fixed start and end time.

Examples: Time interval = Last 3 Days

Trend data is saved and displayed for the last 3 days after starting the trend.

Time interval = From 04.04.2007, 12.00 through 04.05.2007, 12.00.

Trend data is saved and displayed for the time range 04.04.2007, 12.00 through 04.05.2007, 12.00.

NOTE: Historical trend is possible on all levels (station, site, controller, etc.) and in connected and disconnected states of ARENA.

Live Trend

The trend values come live from the controller of the selected site.
