USER GUIDE

a.Check Enable if you want the supervisor ARENA enable to receive alarms via the iLON 10 on the remote site.

b.Uncheck Enable if you want the supervisor ARENA not to receive alarms.

c.Checking Enable is necessary if you want to customize the iLON 10 by overwriting the default configuration with the settings entered in Outgoing connection to Remote Site. Unchecking Enable is recommended if you want to view the site without the necessity of changing the iLON 10 configuration.

d.In User Name enter the user name which the PC uses to authenticate a call from the remote site. This user will be automatically generated inside an "incoming connection" in Windows, which accepts calls from the remote site. In the iLON 10 configuration (section "PPP”), this setting will be stored as user name for outgoing PPP connections.

NOTE:

The user name can be different from the user name issued in Outgoing Connection to Remote site but must comply to the Windows network requirements. If necessary, please contact the I.T. administrator for detailed information.

e.In Password enter the password which the PC uses to authenticate a call from the remote site. This password will be used inside an "incoming connection" in Windows, which accepts calls from the remote site. In the iLON 10 configuration (section "PPP"), this setting will be stored as password for outgoing PPP connections.

NOTE:

The password can be different from the password issued in Outgoing Connection to Remote site but must comply to the Windows network requirements. If necessary, please contact the I.T. administrator for detailed information.

f.In Local Phone No., enter the phone number of the PC modem which is used to accept incoming calls from the remote site. This is the phone number which the remote site uses to contact the PC on which ARENA is running. In the iLON 10 configuration (section "PPP"), this setting will be stored as phone number for outgoing PPP connections.

NOTE:

Enter this phone number exactly the way it has to be dialed by the remote site. If the iLON 10 on the remote site connects to the public phone network through a switchboard, you may need to add a leading “0” to get to the public line.

g.Click Advanced icon , if you want change specific modem settings as follows:

Initialization String

Enter string of modem commands which is sent to the modem each time the remote site (iLON 10) dials to the supervisor PC. Can be used to enable modem specific functionality.
