power on self test, which occurs automatically when you turn on the power meter.

confidence check, which is accessed via the front panel and requires your assistance in order to verify the POWER REF and measurement path accuracy.

troubleshooting mode, which is accessed via the front panel or remotely. The front panel softkey menu allows you to run individual tests, whereas the remote command runs a complete series of tests as listed in “Remote Testing”, on page 2-69.

Power On Self Test

The power on self test is performed automatically when the power meter is turned on and takes approximately 10 seconds to complete. The power on self test consists of the following tests:

Serial Interface

Option 001 Battery

Refer to “Test Descriptions”, on page 2-70 if you require a description of each individual test.

As the power on self test takes place, the message “Testing...” appears next to the name of the test which is being performed. When each test is complete, the message “Testing...” is replaced by either the message “Passed” or “Failed”. The option 001 Battery test can also produce the message “Not Present”. If a failure occurs the message Power-up H/W Err” appears. Any errors are also written to the error queue and can be
