3 x 4-inch piece of white plastic), as summarized in this note, and as fully described at the end of “Appendix C — Troubleshooting.”

A.Remove the calibration mask and single frame holder adapter or multi- frame holder.

B.Orient the dust removal tool as shown below, and with an up and down motion, clean the surface of the diffuser making sure the fiber strip makes contact with the diffuser.

C.Remove the dust tool, replace the mask and holder, and rescan the image.

D.If the problem continues, use the scanner software RECALIBRATE button as described in “Appendix C — Troubleshooting.”
