Error Messages

Error codes and messages that may appear in the Status sections of the Jetdirect configuration page are described in Table 9.9.

Error Code and		Description
Message
02 LAN ERROR -		During self-test, the HP Jetdirect print server detected an
INTERNAL		internal loopback test error. The print server may be faulty.
LOOPBACK		If the error persists, replace the HP Jetdirect print server.
03 LAN ERROR -		The HP Jetdirect print server is incorrectly connected to
EXTERNAL		your network or is defective. Make sure your HP Jetdirect
LOOPBACK		print server is correctly attached to your network. In addition,
		check the cabling and connectors.
07 LAN ERROR -		(Wired Ethernet) Check the network connections. If the
CONTROLLER CHIP		connections are intact, run the power-on self-test: turn the
		printer off, then on again. If the error persists, replace the
		HP Jetdirect print server.
07 AUTHENTICATION		The Jetdirect print server could not access the network
FAILED		because of an authentication error. The error depends on
		the authentication method used.
		Verify the authentication method and settings on the print
		server.
08 LAN ERROR -		There is a network congestion problem.
INFINITE DEFERRAL		Note: If the print server is not connected to the network, this
		error cannot occur.
08 AUTHENTICATION		Link-level authentication is in progress.

09 LAN ERROR -		Check the network connections. If the connections are
BABBLE		intact, run the power-on self-test: turn the printer off, then
		on again. If the error persists, replace the HP Jetdirect print

		installation guide for your print server.
0A LAN ERROR -		(Wired Ethernet) Check the network connections. If the
