11: User Authentication

Local and Remote User Settings

The system administrator can configure the SLC 8000 advanced console manager to use local accounts and remote accounts to authenticate users.

1.Click the User Authentication tab and select the Local/Remote Users option. The following page displays.

The top of the page has entry fields for enabling local and remote users and for setting password requirements. The bottom of the page displays a table listing and describing all local and remote users.

To enable local and/or remote users:

1) Enter the following:

Enable Local Users

Select to enable all local users except sysadmin. The sysadmin is always

 

available regardless of how you set the check box. Enabled by default.

 

 

Multiple Sysadmin

Select to allow the sysadmin to have multiple simultaneous logins to the web

interface. Disabled by default.

 

 

Sysadmin Access

Select to limit sysadmin logins to the Console Port only. Disabled by default.

Authenticate only

Select the check box to authenticate users listed in the Remote Users list in the
