2If more than one inch of your document has passed beneath the ADF roller, close the ADF top cover, and then proceed with the instructions for clearing a jam in “Roller misfeed” on page 72.

2If more than one inch of your document has passed beneath the ADF roller, close the ADF top cover, and then proceed with the instructions for clearing a jam in “Roller misfeed” on page 72.

If an inch or less is engaged in the ADF, gently pull the document out.

3Close the ADF top cover, and then load the documents back into the ADF.

Note: To prevent document jams, use the document glass, rather than the ADF, for thick, thin, or a mixed set of documents.
