5.0 SPECIFICATIONS AND RATINGS

5.1 Rating

ThekVA and kW ratings and the nominal voltages andcurrents for continuous operation are listed on the unit
nameplates(inside Operator Control Panel door) and on the SystemOne-Line Diagram. The UPS is rated to
deliverrated kVA and rated kW at 0.8 lagging power factor (pf),or 0.9 lagging pf for some models. However,
theUPS will operate connected loads with power factors ranging from 0.7 lagging through 1.0 (unity).
Connectedload kW and kVA are both displayedon the LCDscreen when the UPS is powering the load. Power
factormay be easily calculated by kW รท kVA = pf.
Forload power factors between 0.7 lagging and the rated power factor (usually 0.8 or 0.9), the full kVA rating of
theunit is available. However, above the ratedpf the kW rating will become the limiting factor.Note that some
modelsare specifically rated for a 0.9 lagging output power factor.
Forloads with power factors below 0.7 lagging or with leadingpower factors, the UPS output is kVAlimited and
theUPS System may not meet all of its output performance specifications. Consultyour L iebertsales representa-
tivefor performance specifications for these applications.
