3.3 Manual Procedures
TheLiebert Series 600T UPS system is designed to function while unattendedby an operator. The system con-
trollogic at the System Control Cabinet (SCC) monitors the performanceof the UPS system, the availability of
powersources, and the current required by the critical load.
Thesystem control logic at the SCC:
1. Determineswhat overload conditions can be sustained without a transfert o bypass.
2. Initiatesan automatic transfer to bypass to sustain an overload.
3. Caninitiate an automatic retransfer to the UPS after a system overload hasbe encleared.
4. Initiatesan automatic transfer to bypass and emergency module shutdown when a specified UPS fault
occurs.
Thecontrol logic at each UPS module:
1. Determineswhat overload conditions can be sustained by them odulewhile it is on-line.
2. Automaticallytakes the UPS module off line and initiatesan emergency module shutdown when selected
UPSfaults occur.
Refer to 3.4 - Automatic Operations for more details.
Manualprocedures available to the operator includeStart-Up, Load Transfers, and Shutdowns.T heseprocedures
areperformed by using the operator control panel and some manually operated circuit breakersand switches.
TheLCD display at each UPS cabinet includes a screen to help you with each manual procedureby listing each
stepyou must perform.
Thissection lists step-by-step controls to operate and conditionsto observe in the following manual procedures:
1. Start-Up:including initial start-up, recoveringfrom input power failure, recovering from battery shutdown,
andrecovering from shutdowns for emergencies or maintenance procedures
2. LoadTransfers: including transfers from UPS system to bypass, and retransfers from bypass to the UPS
system.
3. Shutdowns: includingmodule shutdowns for maintenance procedures and emergency shutdowns.
