Alarm Messages
Thealarm message area displays the alarm conditions that arepresent within the UPS system. Alarm messages
aredisplayed in flashing reverse video. During normal operation no alarm messages shouldbe present.Up to
fourmessages are displayed. To see ifa nya dditionalalarm conditions are present in the UPS system, displaythe
PresentStatus screen on the control panel.
Table 1 is a complete list of all alarm messages and correctiveactions, if any.
The firstcolumn lists the alarm message , with related alarms grou ped together.
The third column indicateswhich special functions (if any) are initiatedby the alarm.
D- thealarm initiates an auto-dial call through a user-provided modemto a remote terminal.
E-m essagedisplayed only on Status Report screens including Event History.
F- the alarm freezes the History Status Report memory buffer in the cabinetwhere the alarm is displayed.
Pressingthe AlarmReset pad for 15 seconds will unfreeze the memory buffer.
L- the alarm latches the displayed alarm message. Some alarm conditionsare temporary (transient) and
maynot last long enough to be noticed. Latching the display (keepingit on) lets you know that an alarm con-
ditionhas occurred. A latching display alarm remains on the display screen untilthe alarm condition is
removedand the A larm Reset pad is pressed.
R- thealarm is displayed on an (optional) Remote Monitor Panel. This informationis alsoavailable for
customeruse through a set of contacts on a separate terminalboard.
S- the alarm initiate s a summary alarm at the Remote Monitor Panel and at the SCC.
The fourth columnprovides an explanation of the alarm condition, the critical bus status,and the corrective
actions,if any, toremedy the alarm.
