Operation 53
Maximum Auto-Retransfer Attempts
Whena UPSoutput overload condition exceeds a pre-programmed current-versus-timewindow (based on the
SCCcurrent rating), the UPS automatically transfersthe critical load to the bypass line. After theoverload condi-
tionhas been corrected, the UPS attempts to automatically retransferthe critical load to the UPS output (unless
zeroattempts is selected). The Maximum Auto-Retransfer Attempts limits the number of times(0 to 5) that
theUPS attempts to retransfer the load back to the UPS withina one-hour time period.
Ifmore than the selected number of overloadsoccurs during one hour, the criticalload remains on the bypass line
andmust be manually retransferred to the UPS system.Note that you should determine the cause of any overload
condition.
Notethat automatic retransfers are initiatedonly if the critical load was transferred to the bypass linebecause of
asystem overload. If an automatic transfer to bypass occurred for any other reason, an automatic retransfer will
notbe initiated. Refer to 3.4.3 - Automatic Retransfers to UPS.
