3.1.8 Start-Up Procedures Screen
Fromthe SCC Master Menu, move the highlighted cursorto START-UP PROCEDURES. Press the Selectpad
andthe SC C Start-UpProcedures screen is displayed.
Thisscreen contains the steps you must follow to start-upthe UP S system.The instructions are listed so you can
reviewthem prior to performing the start-up.

Priorto this procedure, supply power to the critical load through the bypassline. Start-up each UPS module
accordingto the module start-up procedures. You canthen transfer the load from bypass to the UPS system per
instructionson the SCC Load Transfer Procedures Screen.
Refer to 3.3.1 - Start-UpP rocedurefor more details.
NOTE
Ifthe system was shut down in response to an “Emergency Off”signal (typically
becauseof a load fault), there may be alarm messageson theLCD screen that
describesystem conditions before (or at thetime of) the shutdown. Some or all of the
alarmconditions may have already been resolved. To clear these alarm messages,
makesure the critical load is on bypass power and turnoff the control power (see
Figure8 and Figure 9). Wait atleast ten minutes for the control power circuitryto
completelyde-energize. After tenminutes, turn control power back on and follow the
start-upprocedures on the UPS and SCC screens.
START-UPPROCEDURES
1. Wait approximately two (2) minutes before attempting any other action .
2. Select "SYSTEM CONFIGURATION"screen to verifythat the correct m odel number is
displayed.
3. Go to the modules(s) and follow the module "STARTUP PROCEDURES".
4. Select "MONITOR/MIMIC"screen, verify that the output voltages areat the
propernominal level and correct number of m odules online is displayed.
5. Ifthe bypass or stati c switch breakers are open, refer to Start-up Procedures
inthe UPS manual for instructions on c losing these breakers.
6. System is now ready to assume load. S elect "LOAD TRANSFER PROCEDURES"
screenfor this procedure.
