Auto Dial
Thisis a feature that automatically dials (througha customer supplied PC-compatible modem) a pre-pro-
grammedtelephone number (up to 12 digits)when specified alarm conditions occur withinthe UPS system. The
connectionfor the modem is at the SCC. Automatic dial attempts tothe first number are made at periodic inter-
valsfor 30 minutes. If unanswered, the system rolls over to the secondnumber and repeats the process until con-
nectionis made.
Uponconnection, the system transmits data, in RS-232C format, that includes the system identification code, the
presentalarm message(s) and the time that the alarm(s) occurred. Refer to 3.1.14 - Communication Interfaces.
Referto the Special Functions column in Tab le 1 to see which alarmm essageswill initiate an auto-dial call.

Ifthe auto-dial numbers were specified at time of order or installation,the numbers are pre-programmed into the
system.However, if the numbers need to be changed, follow the steps listedbelow to reprogram the auto-dialer
at the SCC.
1. Fromthe System Configuration screen, press the Up or Down pad to move the highlighted cursor to Auto
Dial.
2. Press the Select pad. The Auto Dial screen will appear.
3. Move to and selec t the first Auto Dial N umber.
4. Press the Select pad to move the arrow to the next digit to the right.
5. Whenthe arrow is on the digit to be changed, press the Up pad to increase thenumber or press the Down
pad to decrease it. Press Select to set the value and move to the nextdigit.
6. Afterall of the changes have been made, press the Select pad again to return to the System Configuration
screen.
7. Ifrequired, go to the Second Number screenand enter thecorrect number.
