SCS I Description
M axtor Atlas 10K III 5-37
Log Sense data pages require special interpretation and also are
subject to change. For assistance with the Log Sense data pages,
contact your Maxtor Applications Engineer.
The drive collects operational info rmation and stores these statistics as log data. Log
data are grouped by category into log pages. The LOG SENSE command allows an
initiator to r etrieve the stored log data. The LOG SENS E comma nd is a
complementary co mmand to the LOG SELECT command.
Each log pag e contai ns one or more piec es of infor mation. Ea ch piece of inf ormati on
is referred to as a parameter. There are two types of parameters: values and lists. In
general, error and performance counters are reported as values. For example, the count
of Hardware Idled Due To Invali d Command is returned as a 32-bit integer. Events
are reported as lists. For example, the la st known failure might be reported with the
ASC II stri ng Last known failure code 960A(X).
Table Table 5-44 lists the log pages supported by the drive. Contact your M axtor
Applications Engineer for more information.
