The Maxtor Atlas 10K III hard disk drive operates from two supply voltages:

data may be lost in the s ector being written at the t ime of power los s. The drive
can with s tand tran sien t v oltag e s o f +10% to –100% from nominal while
powering up or down.
When powering up, the drive remains reset (inactive) until both r ising Voltage
thresholds reset limits are exceeded for 100 ms. When powering d own, the drive
resets immediately when either supply voltage drops belo w the falling voltage
threshold.
