REASSIGN BLOCKS Defect Descr iptor-Data Format
The drive returns a CHECK CO NDITION status if it cannot complete the
command. If thi s happens becaus e the drive ran out of spare sector s, the drive set s the
sense key to MEDIUM ERROR and the additional sense code to NO DEFECT
SPARE LOCATION AVAILABLE. The sense key and additional sense key are set
appropriately for any other cause. The Logical Block Address of the first defect
descriptor not reassig ned is returned in the command-specific information field of t he
sen s e data. If all defects we re re as si gn e d , b ut som e o th e r er ro r oc c ur re d , the n
FFFFFFFFh is posted in the comman d -spe cific field.
