C o nt rol M o d e Page- Field De script i o ns (Page 0 Ah)

NOTES:

If the Queue Algorithm Modifier s pecifies restricted re-ordering (0 000b), c ommands

are not allowed to execute concurrently. If th is field specifi es unrestricted re-ordering

(0001b), concurrent I/O execution is allowed.

PS 1
Parameters Savable. This bit is only used with the MODE SENSE command.
A retur ned value of 1 i ndicates t hat t he target i s capable of s aving the page
in a non-vol atile, vendor-specif ic locati on. The bi t is reserved with the
MODE SELECT command.
GLTSD 0
Global Logging Target Save Disable. If this bit = 1, the ability to save log
ages to dis k is disable d. If a LOG SELECT wit h the SP bi t is re cei ved by the
drive, the current cumulative values will be cleared. The on-disk values will
not be change d. If a LOG SE NSE with the SP b it s et i s rece ived b y the drive
and the GLTSD bi t is set a nd the un it is r eady, the l ast LOG counte r values
written to disk will be returned (not the current cumulative values).
If a STOP UNIT comm and or a LOG SENSE command wi th th e SP bit set is
issue d to the drive, the cumulative val ues of the Log Counter s page will be
writ ten to disk . A LOG SENSE comm and will retur n the cumulati ve values
since the counters were cleared, not since the drive was powered on.
RLEC 0 Report Log Exception Condi tion. The drive does not report log exception
conditions.
Queue
Algorithm
Modifier 0001b
This field specifie s restri ctions on the algor ithm used for re-or dering com-
mands that are tagged with the SIMPLE message.
A value of 0 specifies that t he drive orders the actual execution se quence
with a SIMPLE statement.
A val ue of 1 (Unrestri ct ed Re-orderi ng Allowed) specifie s that the drive ca n
re-or der the act ual e xecution sequ ence of the commands with a SIMPLE in
any manner. Any data integrity exposures related to command sequence or-
der are explicitly handled by the initiator through the selection of appropriate
commands and queue tag messages.
QErr 0
Queue Error Management. This field controls the drives processing of
queued commands when a Contingent Allegiance (CA) condition or Extend-
ed Contingent Allegiance (ECA) is cleared. Processing of queued commands
is resumed when a CA/ECA condition i s cleared.
DQue 0
Disable Queue. When set to the default value of 0, the drive supports
tagged command queuing.
When the Disabl e Queue bit is set to 1, tagged command queuing is dis-
abled. A subsequent tagged message from the initiator i s rejected with a
MESSAGE REJECT message and the I/O process is executed as an un-
tagged com m and.
EECA 0 AEN enabled.
RAC 0 Report A Check Conditi on bit.
RAERP 0 Ready AER Permis sion.
UAAERP 0 Unit Attention AER Permission.
EAERP 0 Error AER Perm ission.
