Installation

The drives are shipped from the factory with the jumpers installed across the A1 and A2 locations. This is the default configuration. The rest of the jumper positions are open.

The configuration of a Maxtor Atlas 10K III hard disk drive depends on the host system in which it is to be installed. Figure 3-3shows the printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies for 68-pin SCSI configurations, indicating the jumpers that control some of these options.
