Replacing the DVD combo drive

The DVD combo drive is not hot-swappable. You must power down the system to replace the DVD combo drive.

Requirements

You need a Phillips (cross head) screwdriver, #1 and #2 bit.

To replace the DVD combo drive

1Power down the server, unplug all peripheral devices and Ethernet cables, and disconnect the AC power.

2Remove the front bezel. Refer to “Removing and replacing the front bezel” on page 106.

3Attach the ESD strap to your wrist and attach the other end to a known grounded connection.

4Remove the chassis cover. Refer to “Removing and replacing the server cover” on page 108 for instructions.

5Pull out on the drive carrier handle (A) as shown in the following diagram.
