Warning! When you set the port type for AP use, you must specify the PoE state (enable or disable) of the port. Use the WSS switch’s PoE to power Nortel AP access ports only. If you enable PoE on a port connected to another device, physical damage to the device can result.

Note. You cannot configure port 7 or 8 on an WSS-2360 switch, or port 1 on an WSS-2350 , or any gigabit Ethernet port, as an AP port. To manage an AP access point on an WSS-2380 switch, configure a Distributed AP connection on the switch. (See “Configuring an Indirectly Connected AP” on page 258.)

To set the port type for AP access points, use the following command:

set port type ap port-list

model {AP2750 AP-52 AP-101 AP-122 AP-241 AP-252 AP-262 AP-341 AP-352 2330}

poe {enable disable}

[radiotype {11a 11b11g}]

You must specify the AP model and the PoE state.

Note. All AP models except the 2330 and AP2750 have been discontinued but are still supported by the command.

For models AP-101, AP-241, and AP-341, you can specify one of the following for the radio type:

11a—802.11a

11b—802.11b

11g—802.11g (AP-241 and AP-341 only)
