authentication or might

VLAN.

If the client and switch configurations are correct, a VLAN might be disconnected. A client connected to a disconnected VLAN is unable to access the network.

1.Type the show aaa command to ensure that the authentication rules on the WSS switch allow the client to authenticate. (See “Displaying the AAA Configuration” on page 464.)

2.Check the authorization rules in the switch’s local database (show aaa) or on the RADIUS servers to ensure the client is authorized to join a VLAN that is configured on at least one of the WSS switches in the Mobility Domain. (See “Assigning Authorization Attributes” on page 446.)

3.Type the show sessions command to ensure the user is connected to the switch.

4.If user does not appear in the sessions list, there begin a 802.1x trace (more info on using the trace command see page 588) debug using the set trace dot1x level 4 mac <mac address>, and have the user reconnect, to show the trace results issue the show log trace command. Remember to stop all tracing when possible as it can potentially slow down the switch process. To stop the all traces type the clear trace all command

1.Type the show vlan config command to check the status of each VLAN.

2.If a VLAN is disconnected (VLAN state is Down), check the network cables for the VLAN’s ports. At least one of the ports in a VLAN must have a physical link to the network for the VLAN to be connected.
