Configuring a Port Name

Each WSS switch port has a number but does not have a name by default.

Setting a Port Name

To set a port name, use the following command:

set port port name name

You can specify only a single port number with the command.

To set the name of port 17 to adminpool, type the following command:

23x0# set port 17 name adminpool

success: change accepted.

Note. To avoid confusion, Nortel recommends that you do not use numbers as port names.

Removing a Port Name

To remove a port name, use the following command:

clear port port-listname
