8. Launching A Presentation

8.1 Launching A Presentation

To launch a presentation, click Start on the right hand side of the Presentation Manager (See Figure 8-1).

Clicking “Start” will automatically connect the Presentation Manager to the FTP server designated in the Presentation Wizard. A proper connection to the FTP server will be indicated by a green light at the bottom-left of the Presentation Manager (See Figure 8-2). If multiple publishing points are being used, multiple green lights should appear.

Note: The encoder lights will turn green if the encoder connection is working. In the example picture below, the encoders are red and, consequently, the presenter can tell that encoder is not connected.

Note:

The Presentation Manager will not display “connected” if the presentation is being prepared for CD only, as a FTP connection is not required to publish the presentation.

As soon as Start is clicked, the timer will begin recording for the duration of the presentation and the “Event List” window will begin recording each event and the time at which it occurred (See Figures 8-3 and 8-4).
