1. PREFACE
In terms of its contents, Module H01 is part of the teaching unit entitled ’Frequency Converter at
SIMATIC S7’.
Learning Objective:
In Module H01, the reader learns how the frequency converter SINAMICS G120 is started up
together with the CPU 315F-2 PN/DP on PROFIBUS DP as well on PROFINET. Module H01 shows
the method in principle, using a brief example for each the PROFIBUS and the PROFINET.
Prerequisites:
To successfully work through Module H01, the following knowledge is assumed:
• Knowledge in handling Windows
• Fundamentals of PLC programming with STEP 7 (for example, Module A3 - 'Startup’
PLC Programming with STEP 7)
• Fundamentals of PROFIBUS DP (for example, Appendix IV – Fundamentals of Fieldbus
Systems with SIMATIC S7-300)
