FIELD

DESCRIPTION

Name

This is the ZyWALL's system name + domain name assigned in menu 1. For

 

example, System Name= xxx; Domain Name= baboo.mickey.com

 

Name= xxx.baboo.mickey.com

 

 

Routing

Refers to the routing protocol used.

 

 

ZyNOS F/W Version

Refers to the version of ZyXEL's Network Operating System software.

 

 

Country Code

Refers to the country code of the firmware.

 

 

LAN

 

 

 

Ethernet Address

Refers to the Ethernet MAC (Media Access Control) address of your ZyWALL.

 

 

IP Address

This is the IP address of the ZyWALL in dotted decimal notation.

 

 

IP Mask

This shows the IP mask of the ZyWALL.

 

 

DHCP

This field shows the DHCP setting of the ZyWALL.

 

 

When finished viewing, press [ESC] or [ENTER] to exit.

40.3.2 Console Port Speed

You can change the speed of the console port through Menu 24.2.2 – Console Port Speed. Your ZyWALL supports 9600 (default), 19200, 38400, 57600, and 115200 bps for the console port. Press [SPACE BAR] and then [ENTER] to select the desired speed in menu 24.2.2, as shown next.

40.4 Log and Trace

There are two logging facilities in the ZyWALL. The first is the error logs and trace records that are stored locally. The second is the UNIX syslog facility for message logging.

40.4.1 Viewing Error Log

The first place you should look for clues when something goes wrong is the error/trace log. Follow the procedure below to view the local error/trace log:
