2If the auto-run window does not appear automatically, Click Click Start > Run

￿Type <x>:autorun\auto.exe where <x> is your CD drive letter.

3When the auto-run window appears, follow the directions on that window to install the Agilent IO Libraries Suite. (See Agilent IO Libraries Connectivity Guide on your Automation-Ready CD for a full description of installation options and installation troubleshooting information).

4Go to “Configuring a Remote GPIB Interface” on page 66 to configure GPIB instruments connected to your E5810.

and/or

Go to “Configuring a Remote Serial Interface” on page 68 if an RS-232 instrument is connected to your E5810.

Configuring a Remote GPIB Interface

This section shows the steps to configure a remote GPIB interface, which is a logical interface on the client PC that supports communication with GPIB instruments on your E5810. If you do not have GPIB instruments connected to your E5810, but do have an RS-232 instrument connected, skip this section and go to “Configuring a Remote Serial Interface” on page 68.

1Click the Agilent IO Control icon (blue circled IO icon on the Windows taskbar) and click Agilent Connection Expert to display the Connection Expert utility’s main window.

2Click Add an interface on the Connection Expert toolbar.
