Configuring the voice path

After you define the voice PVCs and DLCIs, you need to perform the following steps to configure the voice path:

Set the jitter delay

Set the SLIC control mode Set the echo cancellation

Setting the jitter delay

When the jitter delay is set, the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module holds the incoming packet data from the WAN voice channel to allow for variance in packet arrival time. The time that you set for the jitter delay depends on the data rate in use

the lower the data rate, the higher the delay. To set the jitter delay

1.On the Main Menu, select VoicePath Configure.

The Voice Configuration submenu displays.
