11. Verification

This chapter describes how to verify that the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module operates properly after installation. It also covers maintenance, and how to display the current configuration. Before you can test the voice capabilities of the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module, you must first provision it at the voice gateway.

Power-up test

The PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module shows a brief indication of normal operation when you first turn on the IAD – verify that the POWER indicator on the front panel lights green.

Operational test

The following procedure assumes that:

You configured Directory numbers (DNs) in the Class 5 switch for the associated POTS ports. For more information, see the “WAN configuration” chapter.

You configured PVCs at the DSLAM (defaults = 0, 38 – data and 0, 39 – voice). For more information, see the “WAN configuration” chapter.

You configured a data network. For more information, see the “WAN configuration” chapter.

You have a dedicated communications circuit available between yourself and a counterpart connected to the associated voice gateway via the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module.

You connected and configured a WAN link at the associated DSLAM. For more information, see the “WAN configuration” chapter.

You have a PC that has an Ethernet adapter and runs a TCP/IP stack. For more information, see the “Getting started” chapter.
