5. Administration

This chapter provides information about the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module security, as well as how to configure the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and upgrade ACOS.

For more information on the menus, submenus and commands in this chapter, see the “Menu interface” chapter.

Security

The PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module provides multilevel security using a single User ID and password, which you can set at the following levels:

User

NetMan – Network Administrator

The following table lists the default values for both the User IDs and passwords:

Access Level

Network Administrator

The User IDs and passwords are case-sensitive and can contain up to 17 alphanumeric characters – no spaces.

You can change the password at each access level, but the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module can only store one password at each access level at one time.

You can only change the User ID at the User level.

Menus, submenus, and commands that display on the Main Menu depend on access level that you use to log on. For example, access level User displays the fewest number of options.
