Time Format Definition

The following table lists the characters that you can enter as the format part of the % {format}t string described in the Custom Log Format table of Arguments for Defining a Custom Log Format on page 118. Values within brackets ([ ]) show the range of values that appear. For example, [1,31] in the %d description in the following table shows %d ranges from 1 to 31.

Argument	Specifies
%%	The same as %.
%a	The abbreviated name of the week day
	for the locale.
%A	The full name of the week day for the
	locale.
%b	The abbreviated name of the month for
	the locale.
%B	The full name of the month for the locale.
%C	The century number (the year divided by
	100 and truncated to an integer as a
	decimal number [1,99]); single digits are
	preceded by a 0.
%d	The day of month [1,31]; single digits
	are preceded by 0.
%e	The day of month [1,31]; single digits
	are preceded by a blank.
%h	The abbreviated name of the month for
	the locale.
%H	The hour (24-hour clock) [0,23]; single
	digits are preceded by a 0.
%I	The hour (12-hour clock) [1,12]; single
	digits are preceded by a 0.
%j	The number of the day in the year
	[1,366]; single digits are preceded by 0.
%k	The hour (24-hour clock) [0,23]; single
	digits are preceded by a blank.
