Configuration Menu

The items on the Configuration Menu allow you to set default parameters for two-sided printing and binding. These menu items also help you select the output bin, printing personality, auto continue, power saving, resource saving, and page protection. They notify you when the toner supply is low or service is needed. Table 4-9 presents the messages that appear when you select each of these menu items.

CONFIGURATION		SERVICE MESSAGE=	Appears at approximately 350,000-image intervals,
MENU		[ON,OFF]	when the PERFORM USER MAINTENANCE message
			appears.
		2-SIDED=	Allows you to select duplex (two-sided) printing as
		[OFF*,ON]	the default printing mode.
		BINDING=	Allows you to control the binding edges of
		[LONG EDGE*,	duplexed documents. More information about
		SHORT EDGE]	binding options is located in Chapter 5, “Print
			Tasks.”
		PAPER	Allows you to select the default output bin. More
		DESTINATION=	information about the output bins is located in
		[TOP OUTPUT	Chapter 5.
		BIN*, LEFT	When an output bin is full of paper, printing is
		OUTPUT BIN,
			stopped and one of the following messages is
		OPTIONAL OUTBIN]
			displayed: REMOVE PAPER FROM TOP OUTPUT BIN
			or REMOVE PAPER FROM OPTIONAL OUTBIN n.
			Empty the bin to resume printing.
			Note: The Left Output Bin does not cause the bin
			full message to be displayed.
			By selecting the Stapler as the output bin, you can
			have your documents stapled.
		ORIENTATION=	Allows you to specify the orientation of the printed
		[PORTRAIT*,	page. The orientation setting in your software
		LANDSCAPE]	application overrides the control panel setting.
		POWER SAVE DELAY=	Allows you to change the setting for the time
		[1 HR*	interval the mopier remains inactive prior to
		2 HRS	entering Power Save mode. Warm up time for the
		3 HRS	mopier after the power save delay is approximately
		OFF	60 seconds.
