6.1 Setting Up the Fax Registration

Setting Up Relay Boxes (“RELAY BOX” function)

A relay box ID must first be set in order for this machine (acting as a relay station) to receive a document from another fax machine (transmitting station), then transmit the document to multiple recipients (receiving stations).

Note

A relay box ID cannot be the same as a mailbox ID.

This machine (acting as a relay station) can be set to send back a relay result report. The fax number of the recipient of the report (either the transmitting station or any other recipient) can specified using the one-touch dial keys, a speed dial number or the 10-KeyPad. If the recipient is to be specified using a one-touch dial key or a speed dial number, before using this function, be sure that the one-touch dial key or speed dial number is programmed with the fax number of the report recipient.

To program the relay box

1Select the “FAX REGISTRATION”

menu.

Refer to “Selecting the “FAX REGISTRATION” menu” on page 6-3.

2Press the [7] key from the 10-Key

Pad to select “RELAY BOX”.

3Using the 10-Key Pad, enter the

relay box number.

The relay box number can be set to any number between 0 and 9.

4Using the 10-Key Pad, enter the 4-

digit relay box ID, and then press the [Yes] key.

The relay box ID can be set to any number between 0000 and 9999.

If you wish to change the relay box ID, press the [No] key, and then enter the new number.
