DC/GC Options Features
The DC/GC Options menu contr ols how your
phone handles Direct Connec t calls and Group
Connect calls:
• Tkgrp Silent —controls whether you hear
Group Connect calls to your Talkgr oup. See
“ReceivingGroup ConnectTMCalls” on page 53.
•TkgrpArea— lets you define your Talkgroup
area.
• OneTouch DC — See“Setting One Touch
DirectConnect®”onpage51.
•AlertType— controls how your phonenotifies
you when you receive Direct Con nect calls and
Group Connect calls. See “Sett ing YourPh one
toN ot Ring” on page 90.
VolumeFeature s
TheVolume menu sets thevolume of sounds your
phonemakes:
•Line1— sets ring volume forphone line 1.
•Line2— sets ring volume forphone line 2.
• Messages — sets the volume ofmessage
notifications.
• Earpiece— sets the volume of soun d coming
outo f the earpiece.
• Speaker— sets the volume of sound c oming
outofthespeaker.
•Keypad— sets the volume of sound associated
withpressing keys and buttons.
•Data— sets the volume of sounds thatnotify
youthat you are receivinga circuit data call.
Security Features
TheSecurity menu letsyou turn security features
onand off and change passwords:
• Phone Lock — turns on a feature that locks
your phone, either immediately or aut omatically
aftera set period of inactivity.An unlock code is
requiredto enable thisfeature, to unlock the
phone, and to set a new unlock code. Co ntact
NextelCustomer Care foryour default unlock
code.
•KeypadLock— locks the phone’s keypad,
either immediately or aut omatically after a set
period of inactivity. See “Locking the Key pad” on
page 15 for more information on lockin g and
unlocking the keypad.
•SIMPIN— enables and disables yourphone’s
SIMP INs ecurity feature. See “Turning the PIN
RequirementOn and Off”on page12.
