Entering Text
Youcan enter text intoyour phone using the
traditionalmethodof pressing a key several times
for each character, or by pressin g a key once for
each letter while words likely to be the on ey ou
want are chosen from a database .Yo u can also
enter symbols and numbers int o at ext field.
Ins creens that require you to enter te xt, you see
thefo llowing icons near the to p right corner. These
icons tell you which text input mod e you are using:
Whenyou access a screen thatrequires you to
entertext, you startin Alpha mode.
Tochoose a text input mode:

input mode. Scroll to the t ext input mode you
wantto use.

Using Alpha Mode

Pressany key on thekeypad to enter theletters,
numbers,andsymbols on that key. For example,
toen ter the letter Y, press 9three times.
Typealetterthenscrolluptomakethatletter
uppercase, or type a letter then scr oll down to
makethat letter lowercase.

Using Word Mode

InWord mode, T9 Text Input analyzesthe letters
onthe keypad buttonyou press and arrangesthem
tocreate words. As you type, T9 Text Input
matches your keystrokes to words in its database
anddisplays the most commonly usedmatching
word.You can add your ownwords to this
database.
