Nextel®Voic e Mail
Note:To receivevoice mail messages,you must
first set up your voice mail box.
Note:If you are br inging your phone number
fromanother carrier,we suggest you set
upyour voice mail box after thenumber
you brought to Nextel is active on yo ur
Nextelphone and your temporaryphone
numberis deactivated.If you set up your
voicemail box prior tothis, all messages
and all settings (including your g reeting
and password) will be lost when the
number you have brought to Nextel
becomes active.

Sett ing Up You r Voice Ma il

Usingyour i315 phone, dial your 10-digit Nextel
PersonalTelephone Number(PTN). For example:
7035557777.Follow thesystem instructions to
createa new 4- to 7-digitpassword, record your
name,a nd record ag reeting. When the system
says, “Thank you for usin gN extel Voice Mail,” yo ur
mail box is set up.
Ifyou are calling from a phoneother than your
i315,di al your 10-digit N extel PTN. When y ou hear
the greeting, press the star key to a ccess your
voice mail box. The system willp rompt you to enter
yourpassword. Enter the last seven digitsof your
NextelPTN. For example:5557777. This is your
temporary password.
Youareinthemainvoicemailmenuwhenyou
hearthe options listed below.
Toplay your messages,press 1. (This option
plays only if you have new or saved mess ages.)
Torecord a message, press 2.
Tochange yourgreeting, press 3.
Toaccess yourpersonal options, press4.
Ifyou press *while y ou are in a sub-menu, you
will go to the previous menu. If you pr ess **,
youwillgotothemainvoicemailmenu.Fromthe
mainvoice mail menu,press #to exit voice mail.
Atany time, you may end the callby pressing e.

Playing Messages

Whenyou receive a new voicemail message, you
caneitherlistentoitimmediatelybypressingA
underCall, or later by pressing Aunder Back.
