Recording, Forwarding, and Replying to
Messages
Thesefunctions allowyou to record and send,
reply to, or forward a message to an ass igned
destinationaddressor group list number. If you
recorda complete or partialmessage, but do not
sendit, Nextel VoiceMail service will refer tothis
messageas an “in preparation”message.
Torecord and send a message:
1Fromthe main voice mailmenu, press 2to
recorda message.
2Recordyour message and press#to en d the
message.
3Press9attheprompttoindicatethatyouwant
tosend the message or press 5for delivery
options.
4Enterthe mail box numberand/or group list
number(s).(A mail box number is the 10-digit
NextelPTN of a Nextel customer.The Nextel
customer must be in your lo cal calling area. The
nameof the recipient playsif it is recorded.)
5Press#to send.
6Press** to re turn to the main menu.
Note:You can only send m essages using this
method to Nextel custo mers in your home
market.
Delivery Options
After you have created a messa ge, you can assign
the message to a category before y ou send it.
Belowis a list of the options that can be appliedto
amessage:
•Urgent— Recipient will hear this message
before other messages.
•Private— Recipient cannot copy the message
toan other mail box or phone number.
Notificatio n of Non-Delivery — You will be
notifiedif the recipienthas not listenedto your
message by a certain date and time.
•FutureDelivery—Youcan specify a timeand
date (up to three months in advance) for the
messagetobedelivered.
Note:All dates must have digitsin the MM/DD
format(2 digits for the monthand 2 digits
forthe date). For example,January 2nd
would be 0102.
Important: Once a mes sage has been sent for
futuredelivery, it cannot be retrieved or
deleted.
