Receiving Messages
When you receive a voice mail me ssage, Short
Message Service (SM S) message, or Net a lert,
youhave 2 ways to access the message:
Respond to the messag e notification that
appears when the message is recei ved.
Dismissthe message notificationand access
themessage later throughthe message center.

Message Notifications

Whenyou receive a message,your phone notifies
youwithtextonthedisplayandanotificationtone
orvibration. You can accessthe message or
dismiss the notification.
Ify ou dismiss the notification, them essage is not
deleted.It can be accessedthrough the message
center.
Ifyou are not on a phone callwhen you receive a
message, your phone sound sa no tification tone
every30 seconds until you accessthe message,
you dismiss the notificatio n, or the alert time-out
expires.

Setting Notification Options

Toc ontrol whether yo ur phone sounds mess age
notificationtones whileyou are on phone calls:
1Fromthe main menu, select Settings > Phone
Calls> Notifi cations.
2Choosethe option you want:
Receive All — Tones sound during calls for
alltypes of messages.
•MsgMailOnly—Tonessound duringcalls
forSMS messages; tones forall other types
ofmessages are held untilyou end calls.
Delay All — Tones for all types of messa ges
areheld until you end calls.
Note: Delay All is the defa ult setting.
