SIM Card Security

Entering the PIN

1When the Enter SIM PIN Code screen appears

afteryou power on your phone,enter your SIM

PIN.

2PressAunder Ok.

Theme ssage SIM Unlocked displa ys.

Important: If you enter yourPIN incorrectly 3 times,

yourSIM card is blocked. To unblock

yourSIM card, you must contact Nextel

CustomerCare. See “Unblocking the

PIN”.

Changingthe PIN

Note:The S IM PIN requirement mus t be turned

onin o rder to access this feature.

1Fromthe main menu, select Settings >

Security > Change Password > SIM PIN .

2Atthe En ter Old SIM PIN Code screen, enter

thecu rrent SIM PIN.

3PressAunder Ok.

4Atthe En terN ew SIM PIN Code screen, enter

then ew 4- to 8-digit SIM PI N.

5PressAunder Ok.

6Atthe Re -enter New SIM PIN Code screen,

re-enterthe new SIM PINto confirm.

7PressAunder Ok.

Changed: SIM PIN displays.

Unblocking the PIN

Ifyou enter your PIN incorrectlythree times, your

SIM card is blocked. To unbloc k your SIM card,

youmust contact Nextel CustomerCare to get a

PINUnblock Code (PUK).

Important: If you uns uccessfully enter the PUK

code10 times, your SIM card is

permanentlyblo cked and must be

replaced.If this happens, all datais

lost.You will get a message to contact

NextelCustom erC are. Except for

makingemergency calls, your phone

willnot func tion with a blocked SIM

card.

Tounblock the PIN:

1Press*#m1.

2At your Nextel Custome r Care representati ve’s

request,provide theinformation needed togive

youaPUKcode.

3SelectU nblock PIN.

4Enter the PUK code.

5Entera new 4- to 8-digitSIM PIN.

6Re-enter your SIM PIN.

Note:These st eps must be performed in quick

succession.
