The United States governmen tm aintains an
almanacof data aboutwhere GPS satellites are as
they orbit the Earth. This inf ormation is available to
yourphone. Keeping yoursatellite almanac up to
datehelps your phonedetermine your location
more quickly.
Thealmanac contains informationabout the
location of satellites, t heir operational stat us, and
other satellite informat ion. Keeping thi s information
updatedenhances theperformance of your GPS
feature. In most cas es, your phone will bea ble to
geta fix in strong satellite signalconditions with
outdated almanac data, but it may take longer.
Note:When yo u make an emergency call, your
phone does not rely upon the almana c to
determine your location.
Ifyour satellite almanacdata is out of date, your
phonemay prompt you to update it. Followthe
instructions that appear on th e phone’s display.

Setting Privacy Options
Yourphone’s GPS privacyoptions control whether
softwareapplicationsmay view the locationof your
phone.Youmay set your phoneto one of these
GPSprivacy options:
Restricted — No so ftware applications m ay
viewthe location of your phone.However,
location information may still be availabl e to the
phone’s owner, fleet manager, or account
administrator.
Unrestricted — All applicationsmay view the
locationof your phone,without notifying you.
•ByPermission—When an application
attemptsto view thelocation of your phone,you
willbe prompted to givepermission. However,
location information may still be availabl e to the
phone’s owner, fleet manager, or account
administrator.
Note:Privacy options donot apply to the
transmission of location information
during emergency 911 calls.
