Making and Receiving Code Calls inDirect TalkSMMode

Tomake a code call using DirectTalk:

1Pressand hold the PTTbutton. DT Transmit

appears on the first line of the display. Begin

speakingafter yourphone emits the Direct Talk

tone.

2Releasethe PTT buttonto listen.

Thetone emitted fromyour phone when making a

Direct Talk call is 4 beeps and sou nds different

fromthe standard toneheard with on-network

DirectConnect and GroupConnect calls.

Ifyou receive an error message:

•There may be no parties on your channel or

code.

•Youare out ofrange.

Wheny ou receive a code cal l using Direct Talk, DT

Receiveappears on the first lineof the display.

Receive All

Youcan set your phone toreceive Direct Talk

transmissionsfrom anyphone that is set to the

samechannel, regardlessof the code (1-15), by

settingthe code to Receive All. When you receive

transmissionswith thecode set to ReceiveAll,

thedisplay changes fromReceive All to the code

onwhich the transmissionwas received.

Note:You cannot initi ate a code call when the

code is set to Receive All. If you press

theP TT button with the c ode set to

ReceiveAll, you will receive an error

message.

Toset the code toR eceive All:

Edit.

2Scrollto Code.

3PressAunder Edit.

4SelectRecei veAll.

5Whenyou are finished, pressAunder Back to

returnto the idle screen.
