Redundant CBP Operation:

The Redundant CBP controls protect the critical load against power losses caused by CBP breaker close failures during manual or automatic operations.

1.Redundant CBP operations can be recognized by an alarm condition at the SSBM and the following breaker conditions:

CBP Open

CBS Open

FBP Open

MIS Closed

MBP Closed

2.Once Redundant CBP operation has occurred, the SSBM should be isolated to allow CBP breaker maintenance without impact on the system’s critical load. To achieve SSBM isolation and to exit from Redundant CBP operation, turn the SMB key switch to the left (TO MAINTENANCE) momentarily. This action will open the UPS system’s MIS breaker and place the UPS system fully into Maintenance Bypass mode.

Note: If the CBP breaker failure can be repaired without SSBM isolation, complete the CBP repairs and then, proceed to step 3 below.

3.After the CBP breaker has been repaired, the UPS system can be transferred from Maintenance Bypass mode to Bypass mode as described above.
