Note the following about Figure 4-1:

Zone A (pink-shaded area): initiators. All initiators and SANbox 8200-08 SSP front-side ports (ports 1-4) are zoned together.

Zone B (orange-shaded area): storage. All storage ports, the StoreAge SVM appliance, and SANbox 8200-08 SSP back-side ports (ports 5-8) are zoned together.

The figure shows a configuration that does not use high-availability features.

In Figure 4-2, two independent fabrics and host failover software are used to ensure availability. Within each switch, zoning is used to partition the front-side initiators, and back-side (target) storage and both SVM ports. The figure uses

SANbox 8200-08 SSPs/SANbox 8202-08 SSPs.
