Initializing Ports for Port Based 802.1x
Existing 802.1x port settings are displayed and can be configured using the window below.
Note: Ensure Port Based 802.1x is enabled under Configuration > Advanced Settings.
Click Port Access Entity > PAE System Control > Initialize Port(s) to open the following window:

This window allows you to initialize a port or group of ports.The Initialize Port Table in the bottom half of the window displays the current status of the port(s).
This window displays the following information:

Unit | Choose the Switch ID number of the Switch in the switch stack to be modified. | |
From and | To Select ports to be initialized. | |
Port | A read only field indicating a port on the Switch. | |
Auth PAE State | The Authenticator PAE State will display one of the following: Initialize, Disconnected, Connecting,, Authenticating,, | |
Backend State | Authenticated, Aborting, Held, ForceAuth, ForceUnauth, and N/A. | |
The Backend Authentication State will display one of the following: Request, Response, Success, Fail, Timeout, Idle, | ||
Port Status | Initialize, and N/A. | |
The status of the controlled port can be Authorized, Unauthorized, or N/A. |
