Chapter 5. Installing Windows NT Server 4.0
This chapter describes the installation of Windows NT Server 4.0 using the commercially available version of the software. The installation process will be specified in general terms that relate to all IBM PC server models. Any information relating to specific models of the server range are noted.
5.1 IBM Servers Used
We tested this installation process with the full range of currently available IBM PC servers with various combinations of the following devices:

5.2Pre-installation Checklist
You should ensure you have done the following before you start:
•Prepared your RAID array and initialized all logical drives created using the RAID administration utility provided with the server.
•Partitioned your logical drives. We recommend certain configuration parameters, as discussed in 3.6, ªDisk Partitioningº on page 65.
•Checked that you have all the necessary device driver diskettes ready or can access them from another computer if required.
