Removal andReplacement ProceduresThis chapter describes field-replaceable unit (FRU) removal and
replacement procedures (RRPs) fo r the Sphereon 4300 Fabric Switch.
The chapter also provides procedural notes, electrostatic discharge
(ESD) precautions, and list of FRUs .
Procedural NotesObserve the following procedu ral notes:
1. Follow all ESD precautions and DAN GER, CAUTION, and
ATTENTION statements.
2. Do not perform an RRP unless a failure is isolated to a FRU. If
fault isolation was not performed, refer to MAP 0000: Start MAP.
3. Before removing a FRU, read the associated RRP to familiarize
yourself with the procedure.
4. After completing an RRP:
— Clear t he event codes reporting the failure and recovery from
the product Event Log.
— Extinguish the amber system error light-emitti ng diode (LED)
at the product front panel.
