The product port is operational. Exit MAP.

Disconnect the fiber-optic jump er cable from the port and connec t the
cable to a spare port.
Is a link incident reported at the new port?
YES NO
The port reporting the problem is causing th e link incident.
This indicates port degradation and a possi bl e pending
failure. Go to step 16.

Ensure the attached fiber-optic jumper cabl e i s no t bent and
connectors are not damaged. If the cable is ben t or connectors are
damaged:
a. Inform the customer the port will be blocked. Ensure the system
administrator quiesces Fibre Channe l fra me traffic and sets
attached devices offli n e.
b. Block the port. Refer to Block or Unblock a Port.
c. Remove and replace the fi ber -optic jumper cable.
d. Unblock the port. Refer to Block or Unblock a Port.
Was the maintenance acti on successful?
NO YES
The product port is operational. Exit MAP.

The attached device is causing the recurrent l in k in cident. Inform the
customer of the problem and have the system administrator:
a. Inspect and verify ope ration of the attached device.
b. Repair the attached device if a failure is in di c ated.
c. Monitor port operation for approximately five minutes.
