Measurement Function Block

block. The INPut block includes cou- pling, impedance, filtering etc.

The measurement function block converts the input signals into an internal data for- mat that is available for formatting into GPIB bus data. The measurement func- tion is divided into three different blocks: INPut, SENSe and CALCulate. See Figure 5-3.

￿INPut

The INPut block performs all the signal conditioning of the input signal before it is converted into data by the SENSe

￿SENSe

The SENSe block converts the signals into internal data that can be processed by the CALCulate block. The SENSe com- mands control various characteristics of the measurement and acquisition process. These include: gate time, measurement function, resolution, etc.

￿CALCulate

The CALCulate block performs all the necessary calculations to get the required data. These calculations include: calibra- tion, statistics, mathematics, etc.
