In addition to selecting the method for sending e-mail, the administrator can also either choose to continue to use dynamic LDAP addressing (the embedded feature), or to connect the MFP to the replicated LDAP address book that resides on the server on which HP DSS is installed. Each method has distinct advantages.

Using the embedded dynamic LDAP feature has the following advantages:

The address book data is always up to date.

Replication is not required.

Different devices can be configured to use different LDAP directories.
